The Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute

The Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSI) is the Australasian body combining the professional disciplines of surveying, hydrography, engineering & mining surveying, remote sensing & photogrammetry,and spatial information, which make up the spatial information industry. The institute structure takes advantage of economies of scale and standardised administrative procedures. Service delivery, however, especially CPD, remains at the regional level to ensure the needs of members are best understood and met.

The RS&P Commission’s mission is:
To provide the remote sensing and photogrammetry community with relevant professional development and representation through:

    * Current and timely Continuing Professional Development program
    * Rigorous Specialist Certification
    * Representation at major national and international meetings and forums
    * Highlighting and contributing to globally important research agendas through Working Groups
    * Coordination of important conferences and meetings
